One of a Kind

As many of you know already, Paul's Grand-Daddy Nick Russell died last Wednesday night, March 24, at the age of 90.

One of a Kind...That is the best way I can describe Grand-Daddy Nick. He was such a special person. Anyone that knew him, knew he would give them the shirt off his back. Mr. Nick, as I called him before I married Paul, had a special part in my life as a child. When I used to play at Forest Acres Pool, he would be there taking care of things. I always loved him to death. He even told the story that my parents would leave and I would stay there with him. Here are some pics below.

Grand-Daddy Nick you will be greatly missed, but we will always remember you. Can't wait to tell our kids stories about you one day!

Grandmama "B"

Thanks so much for all the calls, texts, etc. My Grandmama is doing much better. For those of of you that didnt know, we spent Saturday in the ED with Grandmama having terrible back pain. The diagnosis was sciatica. She has had back problems for years and the doctor said on the x-ray they could see compression fractures. Hopefully now she will be back to normal. The physicians assistant at LMH was GREAT! I couldn't have asked for someone anymore in-tune with patients needs. She went over every little thing with us.

Today we went to Granny and Papa's in Washington. Abby had a blast playing with her cousins. Here is a pic of her crawling through the tunnel!

NC TIES, Boats, Oscars, Oh MY!

Last week on Thursday and Friday I had the privilege to go to the NC TIES technology conference in Raleigh. I had a blast with the girls from my school and learned a lot of stuff I can use in my classroom. I only wish we had more access to technology. Here is a picture I took with my phone of Ron Clark, he was the key note speaker!

On Saturday, Paul and I got Abby and took her to the ECU baseball game. She really enjoyed running around and playing with the other kids and on top of that ECU pulled out the win. Here is a picture of Abby sleeping in the truck in the jungle! So cute!

Sunday, we went to the boat show and "dreamed" about the future!! I would LOVE to buy a boat, but Paul and I both realize that now we just don't have the extra money lying around, but definitely in the future!! This is one I REALLY like, it has a fish and ski option!

Sunday night we went to the Tyer Family's Oscars party. This has been a tradition of my brother Will for as long as I can remember. For those of you that don't know Will he is quite the movie buff!! It was great to see everyone including some friends that we don't get to see very often. I had planned to take some pictures, but of course I forgot!! Maybe next year! My favorites were: UP, Inglorious Bastards, The Blindside, and Up in the Air!
