Congrats & Prayer

Congrats are in order for Kenley and Kelli! Kenley is Paul’s first cousin and Kelli is his lovely wife. They just found out they are expecting and we are thrilled!! Love you Kenley and Kelli and cannot wait to meet Baby Russell!!!

I also wanted to congratulate our friends Kim and Scott. They are expecting also. We have been friends with them forever; they both went to ECU with us. Also, just a little fun fact, Kim’s maiden name is just one letter different than mine, AND her middle name started with the same letter as mine. SO before we both were married, our initials were the SAME!! It’s such a small world. One time I accidentally picked up her football tickets at the ticket office because her name was only one letter different than mine!! Love you Kim and Scott!!! Can’t wait to meet Baby Pickett!!

This week I also have a prayer request. A friend of mine that graduated from Ayden-Grifton with me in 2003 has been struggling with Crohns disease. He had surgery this morning. He is such a special person with so much personality!! He is the kind of guy that everyone likes. Pray for his recovery!

Not Me Monday!

I do not have different laundry baskets because I'm too lazy to sort laundry.

I am not super excited that Abby has started talking, even if she is calling me "TT". No clue how she gets TT from Aunt Kim! Oh, well!!

I do not miss spending time with my husband on ECU baseball series weekends. He did not miss my birthday last year for baseball!

I do not LOVE my kids (all 88 of them), even when they act up!!

I do not still think about our house being broken into, EVERYTIME I walk in!

I am NOT ready for summertime!! I cannot stand laying on the pier at my parents place on Blounts Creek!!

Bunco, Sick, & Lia Sophia

This week was crazy busy, even more that usual. Tuesday night my Bunco group met at my house. I enjoyed playing host and fixing dinner! I cooked the Pampered Chef Mexican Lasagna Recipe that you make in the microwave, it is a favorite of mine and super easy!

Tuesday night after everyone else left I got to feeling bad and ended up having to go to the doctor Wednesday morning. :( Thank goodness they called me in an anit-biotic and my WONDERFUL Mom went and pick it up for me and delivered it to school so I would have to miss school for long. I don't have very much sick time and with considering starting a family in the next few years, I need all the days I can get!

Thursday night I hosted, with my friend Lauren, a Lia Sophia jewelry party at my house. When planning these events I thought I was being sooooo smart to schedule them both in one week, but needless to say I will probably not be doing that again.

At both parties I planned to take pictures and then of course forgot! :( Now I'm embarking on my weekend as a ECU baseball widow! ECU baseball started today, so no hubby-time for me this weekend!

Grandaddy Nick's Snowy 90th Birthday

Today was Paul's Grandaddy Nick's 90th Birthday AND we got about 5 inches of snow AND we kept Abby for the past 24 hours. Needless to say there wasn't a dull moment!

I have know Mr. Nick my whole life. He was always Paul and Clayton's Grandad, but most importantly to me he was "the pool man". For as long as I can remember until recently he managed and took care of the pool in the Forest Acres neighborhood in Grifton. When I was little I remember him sitting out there at the pool watching us play, etc. Also I remember going to his house and paying the pool fee for the year and picking up the key. At that visit his wife, Mrs. Myrte, would go and get out a ton of toys for me and Will to play with. Also, I remember loving to sit on his lap when I was little. One day I was sitting with him my Mom said she was leaving and I said, "Ok, I'm staying with Mr. Nick" (Grandaddy Nick loves to tell this story). My Mom supposedly even drove around the neighborhood and I saw right there with him. Needless to say, he was a special man in my life and then I end up marrying his Grandson! Small freakin' world!

Here are some pictures of the blast we had at his house today celebrating!
Love you Grandaddy Nick!

Abby-Ru the next Emeril

Since the snow is coming tonight, Will and Angie let us keep Abby so she will be with us tomorrow for Paul's Grandaddy Nick's 90th birthday party. Mr. Nick thinks so much of Abby and we knew he would love to have her there. I will post pictures tomorrow.

Tonight Abby was into EVERYTHING as usual and I was trying to cook dinner. So Aunt Kim had a bright idea, let her help! I have always loved doing this with kids that I babysit for, but not as young as 18 months. BUT she did great! Loved stiring and dumping, we had a blast I even got a few pictures.

Ticked Off Tuesday!

Several of my friends have been writing about something that makes them mad on Tuesdays and calling it Ticked off Tuesdays! Well, I decided why not join in the fun!
It really makes me made when people spend more money on clothes and think they are really getting better quality. I will never forget a girl I went to high school with buying a plain white shirt at Gap for $20(I like Gap sometimes, too, but on the sale rack), I was like I could buy one at Target for $5. Of course then these crazy people that buy expensive clothes always answer, "it will fall apart in the wash". I have never had any clothes do that! I love finding a deal! JCPenny, Target, and Old Navy will be getting my money! I also love a coupon, why buy something without a coupon when there will be one out the next week. Guess I'm just CHEAP!

Get LOST!

Tonight Paul and I hosted some friends of ours for a party to watch the Premier of the final season of LOST. Paul loves this show, me not so much, as you can probably tell since I am writing this post and its still on. I did remember to take a few pics of the: Russells, Joneses, Tyers, and Wades.
