Random Facts

When we got to sleep at night Paul covers the TV with a T-shirt so he doesn't have to see the light, but can still hear the sound. Yeah I think it's strange, too!

We love eating sushi, especially in the back room with friends at Tokyo.

I really miss having a laptop! It kills me having to ask Paul to borrow his.

I love the people I work with! I am very blessed to work with supportive, professional, and fun friends.

I really miss Swingtown! It was a show that came on summer before last and it was the best! If you didn't watch it, I have it on DVD, you can borrow it! ;)

My Mom is my best girl-friend! She has always been there for me! I hope I can be half of the woman that she is one day!

It drives me crazy when my students ask questions that I just finished answering. Especially if they were talking when I was giving directions.

I love being a teacher, I couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life. I truely believe everything happens for a reason and I am right were the Lord wants me to be.

I have an addiction to buying books for my classroom!! :/

Abby went to the doctor today for her 18 month check-up, she had to get two shots. She is 31 inches tall and weighs 22 pounds. ALSO Mama said today in the study she walked over to a picture of Paul and I and said "KIM"!! God love her! I could eat those 22 pounds UP!

Not Me Monday

I did not just get home after a 12 hour day. I'm a teaccher and only nurses work 12 hour shifts!

I am not secretly excited that basketball season will be over Thursday. I did not cancel pratice tomorrow because we have another game on Thursday and we need to practice.

I am not super excited about Dear John that comes out in theaters next Friday. I will certainly not cry because I know how it ends.

I did not just push Kate (the cat) away, when all she wants is just a little head scratching and attention after she has been home alone all day!

I am not totally ruled by my calendar, I do not check it fifty times a day!

I don't get excited when I think about Paul and my future together. I am not scared to death to think about us starting a family and actually growing up!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

We have had busy week to say the least! It started great with the workdays, but then life happened. Today I was supposed to go to a National Board Support meeting at South Central from 9-3, I ended up getting out sooner than I thought, which was GREAT!

I went to Snow Hill for a little quality time with the Abby-Ru! I picked her up and we went and ran some errands I needed to run in Kinston, took a little break at Bill Faye Park, and then visited my Grandmother. (See pictures below) We had a blast to say the least, I love watching all the new things she can say and do that she couldn't do the last time I saw her. She can now say both Paul and Kim (Tim, lol)! So exciting! I love spoiling her!

Paul stayed home today and got alot done around the house. When I married him I didn't think he was a handy-man around the house (just with computers), but he has really turned out to be great. He can always fix something when I think it's broken and get excited about getting a new one! LOL!

Tonight we both have basketball games at Elm Grove (mine at 7 and his at 8) and we are babysitting for a family that we have been babysitting for FOREVER!! Can't wait to see them and how things are going in their lives.

Please remember two of my co-workers in prayer, both had surgery on Friday, and remember Abby, too. She went to the emergency room Thursday night with "Nursemaids elbow".

Finally Giving IN!!

Well, I have been reading other peoples blogs forever and I always kind of thought I would begin bloging when we had kids to write about. Although, that is several years down the road, and I have other things to blog about now, right? As time has gone on now I have finally realized that "why not" go ahead and go for it! So here goes!

Paul and I are both ECU Alumni, twice over (not sure if that is the right way to say that). We both received our undergrad and graduate degrees from East Carolina. Paul now works in the ECU College of Business Graduate School and I teach 6th grade English in a local middle school.

ECU sports play a BIG part to say the least in our lives. We have a traditional parking spot at home ECU football games next to our really good friends the Joneses in the Eppes parking lot! We have had our tailgate spot for going on seven years, I think, if I added right! We love supporting the Pirates! Baseball season is coming soon!

We also are really involved and love our church family at Elm Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church in Ayden. We are very blessed to have a wonderful and supportive church family where we feel comfortable worshiping and serving our Savior.

Our next love and passion is the water. Paul and I both really enjoy spending time on the water, and my parents have made this more convenient by buying a second home on Blounts Bay. We love spending time there together as a family and time alone there as a couple. It is just amazing how peaceful and different just a change of scenery for a few days can make. Paul and I just got back yesterday from a peaceful weekend there. It is amazing how much better it can make you feel to just sit on the end of the pier and have time to have a conversation with your spouse.

Back to reality today. We had a teacher workday at school, however, I chose to take comp-time to stay home and clean up. It has been a pretty successful day and I even dove into beginning working on my National Boards.

National Boards is a portfolio program where teachers can complete a process and if they pass receive a pay raise. This year as a third year teacher I can't do the entire process, so I am doing just one section called "Take One". It has proven to more more difficult than I thought, but I will get through it.

Another big part of my life is basketball. I coach girls basketball at my school. It is a rewarding experience and the girls always challenge me. During basketball season I usually get home around 7 or 8 o'clock, eat dinner, and go to bed. Paul is very supportive in my coaching, many husbands would complain or ask that I not do it, but instead he cooks supper and pulls more of his share weight around the house during this season. He is the BEST!
